Grade 2 - WE ARE THE SEASONS


Overview: Through a combination of outdoor games, oral stories, activities, discussion and connected projects, students will explore Living Systems in a near-by forest. By coming to know a place and the many perspectives, students will combine Western science with Indigenous stories for a two-eyed seeing approach to learning. Students will develop a deep appreciation and understanding of the interconnections in the natural world.

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Investigate the growth and development of plants and animals and consider their relationship to humans

  • Investigate Earth, its landforms, its bodies of water and its relationship to the Sun

  • Investigate properties of materials and relate them to a purpose.
