Recycle your pumpkins for wildlife’s sake

Happy November WildSmart Friends

Some bears are making their way to their winter den and a few may still be roaming around the valley bottoms.  Bears and other wildlife such as deer and coyotes may be attracted to residential neighborhoods with pumpkins sitting out from Halloween.  Both the Town of Canmore and the Town of Banff have recycling programs for pumpkins.  Please recycle for wildlife’s sake.

Wildlife Report begins in November

WildSmart provides a monthly summary of wildlife activity in the Bow Valley between Banff Park Gate to Bow Valley Provincial Park in the Fall and Winter months. The summary is based upon a compilation of wildlife information provided by government agencies and wildlife activity reported by the public.
