BERRY SEASON HAS BEGUN IN THE BOW VALLEY & KANANASKIS COUNTRY

Special Notice: Bears are actively feeding on berry bushes in the valley bottoms.

Grizzly Bear - Kananaskis - Pat Kamenka

If you had to eat up to 200,000 berries a day to survive, you may not be as aware of your surroundings.  Be kind to the bears by making loud noise frequently so you do not surprise them and potentially cause a defensive attack.  Be extra cautious when you are in areas with berries, poor site lines or near water or high winds.   Bears may not hear you coming as easily.
