Bear Activity: October 28 to November 3

BEAR SUMMARY FOR THE BOW VALLEY
(Banff National Park East Gate to Bow Valley Provincial Park)

For the Period: October 28 to November 3, 2016

Welcome to the ongoing weekly bear reports for 2016.

Summary

Another quiet week for Bow Valley bears. However the lack of snow on the valley floor and the warm weather this weekend means that the bears are still awake and active. Remember to make noise while recreating, remain aware of your surroundings and carry bear spray.

And Now some Paws-itive News

While we’re out hitting the slopes and getting into the winter season it is easy to imagine that the bears are about to start their long nap. However bears don’t keep a schedule. When they go to sleep depends on multiple factors including the scarcity of food and the amount of snow.
